Simple steps of copywriting

 Simple steps and easy to apply suggestions:

  1. Note down few ads in newspaper and try to rewrite them as if you were the copywriter. This will give you practice. Copying the best is a good way to improve.

The below is my style of self improving - I picked a car sale ad and made it creative

More activities

  1. Draft jingles on imaginary products
  2. Write creative introductions of things around you, furniture, mobile, washing machine etc, which will help you in sharpening your creativity.
  3. Save all the stuff and pick the best. Put them in your portfolio and take to a senior copywriter. Offer him your freelancing service.

Practice writing copy by following these three steps:

1. Write down your thoughts as you think them.

2. Use a thesaurus and synonym finder to make your text read better (synonym for "furious" is "raging"; synonym for "hopeful" is "optimistic")

3. Read what you've written aloud many times, adding pauses and inflections to make it sound convincing.

Don't worry! You don't need to actually know what you're talking about to write convincing copy.

When you've finished, read your text one more time and ask yourself if it sounds like something that was written by someone who is an expert in the field they are discussing. If not, consider bringing it up with your manager or a superior.
